Overview

What a crown does.

A crown is a full-coverage cap that protects and restores a tooth that's been damaged, decayed, or weakened.

You may need a crown if you have large fillings replacing too much natural tooth, a cracked or fractured tooth, root canal that's left the tooth brittle, severe decay, or cosmetic damage that's beyond bonding's range.

What's included

Every detail, planned together.

01

Porcelain

Natural look, excellent for visible teeth. Our standard for front teeth.

02

Zirconia

Extremely strong, slightly less translucent. Excellent for back teeth.

03

Porcelain-Fused-to-Metal

Strong + aesthetic but can show metal line at gum over time. Used selectively.

04

Same-Day CEREC

Designed, milled, and placed in one visit. Excellent for back teeth.

Our approach

Choosing your crown type.

Same-day CEREC crowns and traditional lab-crafted crowns each have their place. Same-day crowns are completed in one visit with no temporary required — ideal for back teeth and busy patients.

Traditional lab crowns take two visits over two weeks and allow for maximum customization by a master ceramist — ideal for front teeth and cosmetic cases. We'll discuss which option is right for your specific tooth and situation.

How it works

The process, step by step.

  1. 01

    Exam

X-ray + photos. We confirm the crown is the right answer.

  2. 02

    Prep

Local anesthetic, then the damaged tooth is shaped for the crown.

  3. 03

    Impression / Scan

Digital scan or precision impression. No goopy molds for most cases.

  4. 04

    Placement

Same-day (CEREC) or two-week wait for the master-ceramist lab crown.

  5. 05

    Bite Check

We fine-tune fit and bite so the crown feels like it's always been there.
